CLEARLY KIND TO SKIN - PEARS PICK STAFFORD BROS & DRAEGER TO DISTRIBUTE THEIR FAMOUS SOAP

Stafford Bros & Draeger have been appointed as the exclusive distributors of Pears in South Africa. Pears has been one of the world’s most famous names for 200 years, thanks partly to the high quality of the natural ingredients from which Pears soap has always been made.

The other ingredient of Pears’ success has been ground-breaking advertising.

Today, Pears range of products is specially made to take care of even sensitive and delicate skin. The products are hypoallergenic, and they are non comedogenic, so they will not clog pores.

What’s more, despite the demands of modern production, each bar of Pears transparent soap is mellowed and aged for three months, until it reaches pure transparency. This practice has survived for nearly 200 years.

Andrew Pears produced the first Pears soap in 1789 in London. He sold his cosmetic products to the many wealthy residents of Soho. In those days, suntanned skin was the mark of a working woman, so the upper class used soaps with harsh chemicals to whiten their skins, eventually causing damage.

Pears saw the opportunity to create a soap that could help purify the skin without damaging it. He began to experiment with soap purification using glycerin and other natural products, and produced a clear and transparent soap that proved truly enticing. He also added a flowery scent.
